He is the most underrated and underappreciated singer/songwriter of his generation. Why he isn't in the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame is beyond me. What a beautiful and gorgeous song I have ever heard. Brilliant!
This man is so underrated, almost ignored to the point of embarrassment. What an incredible songwriter, and my god how he can also sing. What a magnificent performance.
The poignant lyrics, the pristine melody, the gentle counter point of the piano, violins, oboes, and harp all blend together for a magnificent and stirring performance that touches both the heart and the soul.
I am 71 years old and used to listen to a radio Broadcasting by the name of Radio Kramer in Cuba in the late fifties, and Sedaka always was one of my favorites. Now he is old and still plays, composes and sings like an angel. Though he is underrated future will give him his place among the best. Thanks for sharing such a beautiful song.
Neil Sedaka wrote the song, I would think he would know best how it should be performed. Somehow I think the words may be his life story or part of it. He is a master pianist too, This is truly outstanding.

I think that the depth of this song belongs to Sedaka. Beautiful, but so sad.

Easily the best version. All the other versions are good but this is by far the best. As the writer he can put most emotion into it.
